POUND CAKE (100 year old recipe) 
1 1/2 c. (1 lb.) real butter
2 3/4 c. flour (cake flour)
2 1/2 c. sugar (sift sugar)
9 eggs

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Blend in 1 egg at a time. Sift flour before measuring, then sift 4 or 5 times. When all is mixed well, beat well and bake 2 hours at 325 degrees.
