I have prepared this recipe after growing up on Dirty John's hotdogs. This recipe is very, very good. I picked up a box of the real ones while in Glens Falls visiting family and can confirm that this recipe is excellent!

Really close to the original maybe slightly heavy on the chili powder.

I grew up in the town, family well known around, watching how popular dirty John "new lunch way" was, even people going after bar closing.. years down fast forward, I did the same, gotta have the dirty John hotdog! I didn't care it was 3 am or 11 am. Best place watch when I grew and still the best!

Used yellow curry and overpowers it. Added more nutmeg, but couldn't get the true "dirt" flavor that the original has. My extended MT family hasn't had the real deal that I grew up on in Glens Falls. This recipe tastes closer to Yacco's sauce in the Lehigh Valley of PA.

When I grew up in Upstate NY my family went to Dirty John's a few times, and once the guy serving us told us one of the secret ingredients was cinnamon. Probably just a tiny amount.
