“LEMON DROP COOKIES” IS IN:

LEMON DROP COOKIES 
A Crisp, Chewy Cookie.

1 cup shortening (Crisco)
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. shredded lemon peel
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup lemon juice
1/2 cup cold water

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and lemon peel and continue beating. Sift flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder. Add dry ingredients and liquids. Mix until blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.

Bake at 400°F for 10 minutes.

Makes 5 dozen (3-inch) cookies.
