BROWNIES SUPREME 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and cocoa together; set aside. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Add flour mixture gradually, then nuts. Put in 8 inch square greased pan. Bake for 25 minutes. Top with chocolate icing and cut in squares.

CHOCOLATE ICING:

1/3 box confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. cocoa
3 tbsp. butter

Mix all ingredients and spread on brownies before cutting. Add a little milk if icing is not thin enough.
