COCOA BROWNIES SUPREME 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, unbeaten
1/2 c. cocoa
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. chopped walnuts

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease on 8 inch square pan. Blend together the shortening and sugar. Add to the mixture vanilla and eggs. Beat until light and fluffy. Add cocoa and mix well. Sift the flour, salt and baking powder together. Stir the dry ingredients in the wet mixture and add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts. Spread in greased pan and decorate the top with the remaining nuts. Bake for 25 minutes or until done. Makes 16 (2 inch) brownies.
