STRING BEANS VINAIGRETTE 
1 lb. green beans, washed, ends snipped off & cut in half on the diagonal
1/2 med. onion, chopped fine
1 sm. clove garlic, chopped fine
1/2 c. blue cheese, crumbled
1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
6 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
Freshly ground pepper

Fill a large saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Add salt to taste and the beans. Cook until tender but still firm, about 3 minutes. Drain and set aside. Place beans in a bowl with the remaining ingredients. Mix well and chill. Yield: about 4 servings.

Went to my friend Harriet's for dinner one night. It was a hot summer night. She served these beans as a side dish for her salad. My son just loves string beans, and when I made this salad, he said he was in heaven.
