PEANUT BLOSSOM COOKIES 
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

36 chocolate candy stars or Hershey's Kisses

Sift together flour, salt and soda. Cream together shortening, peanut butter, 1/2 cup white sugar and brown sugar. Add egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Blend in the dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly.

Shape by rounded teaspoonful into 1 inch balls. Roll in a small bowl or plate of sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.
