1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together sugar, brown sugar, shortening, and peanut butter. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Stir in flour, soda, and salt. Shape heaping teaspoons of dough into balls. Roll each ball in sugar and place on baking sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven until lightly browned. Remove from baking sheet. Push a chocolate kiss into the top of each cookie while still warm. Let cool completely before storing.
