CABBAGE MILANO | |
3 Italian sausage links 3 tbsp. olive oil 1 onion, chopped 1 green pepper, chopped 1 sm. head cabbage, chopped 2 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped 1 sm. can tomato sauce 1/2 tsp. basil 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. grated or shredded Mozzarella cheese Remove sausage from casing and break up. Brown in a large pan over medium heat. Remove sausage from pan. Add oil and cook onion and pepper until softened. Add cabbage and garlic and cook until cabbage is slightly wilted. Mix tomato sauce, basil, oregano, salt and pepper and pour over cabbage mixture. Add sausage and mix well. Simmer, covered, for 15-20 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over top. Cover and continue to cook until cheese is melted. Serve immediately. |
