I've never seen Dales Steak Sauce. Must be regional? Could you sub A-1 Sauce?

Try using 1/2 to 1 can of 7-Up or Sprite, along with a stick of butter, in the bottom of a turkey pan as the basting juice. You will have an extraordinarily juicy bird!!!

It was absolutely fantastic! Going to make it again next weekend when my parents come into town. Thanks for the info.

This is definitely a fabulous marinade that is great on the grill. The high grill temperature seers in the flavor making it tender and the outside has a slight seered crust that is great! Do not try this in the crock pot- all of the juices from the marinade make the meat too salty.

To lower the sodium content of the recipe, Dale's Steak Seasoning also comes in a reduced sodium version. Use it now when available.

I bet this would be excellent in the Crock pot. Perhaps if you heated the marinade then placed it over meat and crocked it on low for 6 to 8 hours.... Doc, do you think this would work ?

So if I live in Oregon would I be able to find Dale's Steak Seasoning?? How about an alternative suggestion if I can't find Dale's?

I live in Florida, and I picked up a bottle of Dale's Steak Seasoning today in the marinade isle of Sweetbay grocery store. The ingredients are: Soy Sauce, Onion, Garlic, Sugar, MSG, Ginger & Paprika. I'm making this recipe tonight, so I'll let you know how it goes!

This is great - thanks! I used cola instead, didn't have Dale's so tossed in ingredients Elizabeth said, using brown sugar instead of white. (No reason - just did) Came out great. Bet it's even better/sweeter with Dr Pepper. Think it would be good on boneless pork ribs as well.

I am from Birmingham and Dale's ROCKS (used to eat at Dale's Cellar downtown B'ham where it originated growing up). There IS no acceptable substitute!! I mail or hand carry Dale's to family and friends all the time when I travel (from Maine to AZ). It is available all over the SE in grocery stores, and is spreading now to the Midwest and Northeast, as snowbirds go home from Gulf Shores and Panama City addicted to it! You can buy it from Dales online: dalesseasoning.com. A little Dales makes just about anything you cook taste better ... stew, spaghetti sauce, any kind of meat, you name it (OK maybe not pancakes?). There's a low salt version (GAH) if you must! ;-)

Dale's Seasoning can be bought through the Internet, I got mind through Walmart online. This stuff is awesome! The low sodium style is my favorite. Wasn't offered through Walmart.

Dale's Steak Seasoning is usually found near the A-1 sauce location in store. The bottle has plain look and is black. This is a great quick marinade, requiring only 30-45 minutes prior to grilling. A lot of restaurants use this.

 Jane (Alabama) says:
It's a liquid marinade that a restaurant in Alabama has marketed. It's like a very salty Worcestershire sauce with some other spices. It's a great marinade for beef and chicken.
