1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg yolk
pinch of salt
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. sweet chocolate bits
chopped nuts, for topping

Mix all ingredients except chocolate and nuts and put on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350°F for 15 to 25 minutes. Melt sweet chocolate bits and spread on top while still warm. Sprinkle top with ground or finely chopped nuts and cut into bars when cooled.
