TOFFEE BARS 
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 egg yolk

Mix together all ingredients and press into a 9x13-inch pan, lightly greased and bake 15 minutes at 300°F.

Chocolate Nut Topping:

1 (8 oz.) milk chocolate bar
chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, etc.), for sprinkling

Soften candy bar and spread on top of mixture while still warm. Sprinkle with chopped nuts. Cool then cut into 1-inch squares.
