POT PIE - TURKEY, CHICKEN OR BEEF | |
2/3 c. butter 2/3 c. onion, chopped 1/2 tsp. pepper 3 1/2 c. chicken broth (can use bouillon cubes, chicken or beef) 3 1/2 to 4 c. chicken, beef or turkey, cut into bite-size pieces 1 (20 oz.) pkgs. peas & carrots, frozen Pie crust (your own favorite or frozen) 2/3 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1 1/3 c. milk Heat butter over low heat until melted. Blend in flour, onion, salt and pepper. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in broth and milk. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Stir in meat and frozen vegetables. Pour into prepared double crust pie shell and bake at 425 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Makes 3 to 4 pies. |
