I baked this recipe last week with just bacon and without mushrooms. It was a HIT!! My grandparents decided I should make it for Christmas morning breakfast!
I just made another batch and it's in the oven! This recipe is so easy to throw together! Only took me 20 minutes to prep from start to finish! This time I added both a lbs of ground sausage and 6 strips of bacon pieces. I also put some dijon mustard in the eggs. We shall see how it is!

I made this today using cinnamon-raisin bread as suggested in one of the comments and it was seriously the most awesome breakfast casserole ever! Yum!

This is awesome and real easy to make. I can't really cook but had a bunch of friends coming over so gave it a shot. Came out awesome! I doubled the recipe so it took about 20 mins longer to cook. Everyone loved it. This will be added to the list of about three other things I can make that come out pretty good!

Done this for years. I use pre-packaged stuffing instead of cubed bread. 8 eggs. I also grate one potato and saute it with onion and pepper. Layer it: stuffing, potato-onion-pepper, sausage; then pour beaten eggs over everything.Let the whole thing sit in the fridge overnight. cover with the cheese and bake 35 minutes at 350°F. Always perfect.

Martin, you're revision to this recipe sounded really good. Are you using just the dry stuffing out of a bag to replace the bread? Can't wait to try it!

This was delicious! I used hashrooms instead of bread for the bottom, and it turned out great! I also left out the meat and mushrooms.

I use shredded hash browns instead of bread and it taste wonderful. I have a convection oven it does take about an hour but I always double my recipe due to the size of our family.

This is something my mom used to make every christmas, and I just found out how EASY it is. I make it for me and my roommate, and freeze the whole thing in individual portions. It is seriously the best reheat ever.

My grandma had her own recipe for something like this so I googled it and got this one. Didn't have any milk. Used water and more eggs. I'm a college student and this is easy to make and was delicious!

I layered the whole slices of bread at the bottom of the pan, sprinkled garlic salt, pepper, crushed red peppers, and sea salt over the bread. Then whipped 18 eggs with a cup of milk, added the sausage, bacon, sautéed mushrooms and onions to it, poured over the bread pushing into the edges a bit. Baked on 350°F for 45 mins and amazing! I like to get a general recipe from this site and then tweak it to my families taste. Nothing has been bad so far. :)

My mom makes something along these lines every Christmas morning, and this is the closest I have found to match her recipe. I used Summer Sausage instead of traditional breakfast meats, and I LOVE it this way! I used a lot more cheese (2 cups) and a total of 8 eggs, and 8 slices of bread (with no crusts). I have a gas oven, and this took about 45-50 minutes to fully cook.

This is an awesome breakfast casserole that is easily made with on-hand items. Note to self, spray pan because it does stick if you don't :)

I made this recipe tonight for supper... only I did it in an 8x8-inch glass dish and sprayed the sides and bottom... I used 6 slices of bread... used the prepackaged Hormel bacon pieces, and the prepackaged Italian sausage, then I used whatever I had for cheese which was enough, and used 9 eggs... I was so excited when I was making this I forgot to put in the onion and the green peppers I wanted in it! oh well... next time... we will see how it turns out... can't wait to taste it!!

I'm a sweet addict, so I add Maple Syrup over the bread to give it that sweet taste with the sausage. Sooo good!
