EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

Will be doing my recipe tonight, sauteed garlic, then butter and whipping cream, slowly adding Romano cheese, fresh basil and pepper. This recipe makes me want to try it with cream cheese though.

This sauce is so good!! Fast and easy to make, and tastes better than anything you can get in the grocery store! I love a spicy sauce so I added cayenne pepper and it was amazing!

Excellent recipe, but try swapping out the cream cheese for Philadelphia cooking Cream Cheese savory Garlic flavor. No garlic needed and makes this recipe even more amazing!

You can literally SEE the melted butter in this sauce. Next time I'll use half the amount of butter. Couldn't finish dinner.

To the person who asked about margarine, I say just use the butter, it is more natural and not as bad for you as some have led us to believe.

Thank you for sharing this. A company worthy recipe that is fast, easy, creamy and delicious. I used 1 crushed garlic clove instead of the garlic powder and fresh shaved parmesean off of a big wedge (not the stuff in a can). I am looking forward to trying this with chicken, crab, shrimp, peppers, mushrooms and/or broccoli. We had this with tortelini as a side dish but it is worthy of being a complete meal. I printed this one...it's a keeper.
