EASIEST & BEST HOMEMADE ALFREDO
SAUCE

This by far is the easiest and best Alfredo sauce recipe I have found yet! I love pasta and Alfredo and searched forever to make it homemade. I think that too many recipes have too many ingredients and that others are too watery. My girlfriend loves it and makes me cook it at least once a week.. plus you can add it to so many different things! This is a great, simple recipe to make for someone coming over for a dinner date ;)

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1 cup half and half
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)
pepper, to taste

1. In a medium saucepan, melt butter.

2. Once butter is almost melted, add the package of cream cheese. It's easiest to cut it into 4 pieces so that it melts quicker.

3. Once butter and cream cheese are mixed well together, add the cup of half and half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and then shake pepper on top. Stir all together until well mixed.

4. Once it's mixed well and sauce-like, take it off the burner and set aside so it can thicken up. Stir every few moments.

5. DONE! Pour over your favorite pasta, I love it with tortellini!

Don't forget some bread-sticks to dip in the extra sauce! :)

I loved this recipe! So easy to make. I added green onions to the butter and cooked just a bit before adding the cream cheese. Added cooked shrimp to the sauce too. I will be making this again.

Excellent and quick! I added chicken. Chicken breast tenderloins that I pre tenderized then added a dash of flour and salt to "replace the skin" also keeps moisture in. In the skillet I pre heated Olive oil and sautéed onion and garlic. Steamed with a white wine. Salt and pepper to taste. My husband and I did it together, very fun.

This recipe tasted just like cream cheese and not much more. It turned out VERY lumpy due to the way the ingredients were listed; the cream cheese didn't melt smoothly. Terrible recipe.

This was delicious! The only problem I had was that I cooked it a bit too long after putting it over te noodles- too thick for my taste! Still- the flavor was awesome!

My family enjoyed this recipe. I used fresh Parmesan, put in alot of garlic and added parsley. It was delicious on top of spinach ravioli. A great way to get the kids eating spinach. :-)

I made this to feed 5 people and was able to make 2 meals out of it excellent! I used 3 sticks of salted butter 3 (8 oz. each) blocks of cream cheese, 1 qt. half and half, 3-1/3 cups each of grated Parmesan, 1 tbsp. garlic powder, sprinkled the pepper on top like directed and stirred with a WHISK (that's important along with watching the heat). I added 1 big shrimp ring peeled and de-veined, ya know the shrimp ring you get at the store for appetizers (it was cheaper that way this week.. sale) and I used 2 lbs. linguine noodles. That's what my son wanted for his 18th birthday dinner and he ate it for dinner and lunch for 2 days lol

Why can't anyone follow the recipe exact, all I read are people changing the recipe stick to the recipe and it will come out fine.

I stuck to the recipe, it came out great. Only thing I had to change was tripling the recipe because I'm feeding a big brood over here lol
