BEEF AND RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 lb. ground beef or chuck 3/4 c. rice, uncooked 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix 1 can golden mushroom soup 1 tsp. salt 1 soup can of water 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce (or less) In a saucepan, mix all ingredients except rice and beef. Let it heat but not boil. Place the ground beef in a casserole dish and spread the rice over it. Pour the hot mixture over the rice and meat. If desired, sprinkle with a chopped green onion. Cover with foil or lid and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes at 325 degrees. Check the casserole the last 20 minutes and if it is a little dry add some hot water. |
