ISLAND BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
2 c. old fashioned rolled oats
1/2 c. macadamia nuts, chopped
1/2 c. coconut, shredded

Place butter in shallow 10 inch baking dish. Cook in microwave oven 1 minute to melt. Stir in brown sugar. Cook 1 minute; stir. Cook 30 seconds; stir until butter and sugar are completely blended. Add remaining ingredients; blend well. Cook 2 minutes; stir. Cook 2 minutes; stir and level mixture. Cook 1 minute; rotate dish a quarter turn. Cook 30 seconds, rotate a quarter turn and repeat once. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Cut into squares. Remove from pan while still slightly warm.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
