BRAZIL SQUARES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) pkg. Nestle's semi-sweet morsels
1 c. toasted pecans, ground

Cream butter, gradually add brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add egg, beating well. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in vanilla. Spread dough evenly in a lightly greased 15x10x1 inch jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 22 minutes.

Sprinkle cookie crust with chocolate morsels; return to oven and bake 1 minute or just until chocolate melts. Spread chocolate evenly over top, and sprinkle with pecans. Cut into 1 1/2 inch squares while warm. Yield: 6 dozen.
