“WALNUT REFRIGERATOR COOKIES” IS IN:

WALNUT REFRIGERATOR COOKIES 
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening (other than butter)
2 cups dark brown sugar
2 eggs
4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped walnuts

Cream butter and shortening thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and blend well. Add eggs and beat well.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add to creamed mixture gradually, beating well after each addition. Fold in chopped walnuts.

Work into 2 rolls and wrap in waxed paper. Chill dough thoroughly in refrigerator.

Slice about 1/4-inch thick.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet in a moderately hot oven (400°F) for 8 to 10 minutes.

Makes 6 dozen cookies.
