BLUE BOAR'S BUTTERED COCONUT PIE 
3 lbs. sugar
4 oz. powdered milk
4 oz. cake flour
1 lb. 4 oz. eggs, break and weigh
11 oz. melted butter
8 oz. dark Karo syrup
2 c. hot water
2 c. cold water
2 drops yellow coloring
1 lb. shredded coconut
5 unbaked pie crusts

Mix sugar, milk, and flour. Add eggs and blend well. Add butter and dark syrup; mix until blended. Add hot water and mix well. Add cold water and coloring. Mix well. Stir in coconut. Pour into crusts. Place in preheated 350 degree oven. Turn oven down to 325 degrees immediately. Bake 35 minutes or until set. Yield: Five pies.
