MICROWAVE MACARONI AND CHEESE | |
1 1/2 c. elbow macaroni 3 tbsp. butter 3 tbsp. flour 1/2 tsp. salt Dash of pepper 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 2 c. milk 2 c. shredded sharp process cheese 1. Boil macaroni according to package instructions in time for step 5. 2. Cook butter in a 2 quart ovenware casserole in microwave oven about 30 seconds or until melted. 3. Add flour, salt, pepper, and dry mustard. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Cook 6 to 8 minutes or until thick, stirring 2 or 3 times the last half of the cooking time to prevent lumps. 4. Add cheese, stir and cook 1 minute or until cheese is melted. 5. Add cooked macaroni. Cook 6 to 7 minutes or until heated throughout, stirring once halfway through cooking time. Total cooking time: about 14 minutes. Recipe yields: 6 servings. Quick and easy recipe for a favorite dish. |
