1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
2 c. oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 bag chocolate chips (6 oz.)

Beat with mixer the first 3 ingredients. Add the eggs and beat until fluffy. In a separate bowl mix together all the dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture and stir by hand. Stir in 2 teaspoons vanilla, bag of chocolate chips. Drop by 1 tablespoon on cookie sheet. Flatten with cup dipped in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
