PUMPKIN COOKIES 
2 c. sugar
2 c. shortening
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
2 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

In mixer bowl, thoroughly cream together sugar and shortening. Add pumpkin, eggs and vanilla; beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices. Add to creamed mixture; stir in raisins and nuts.

Drop dough from rounded teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake in 350 degree oven 12-15 minutes. Frost with your favorite frosting. Makes 7 dozen.
