WILD GAME ELEPHANT STEW
1 medium size elephant
salt & pepper
8 rabbits (optional)

Cut elephant into bite size pieces (this should take about 2 months). Add enough gravy to cover.

Cook over kerosene fire for 4 weeks at 465°F.

This will serve about 3,800 people. If more come than are expected, the 2 rabbits may be added, but do this only if necessary as most people don't like hare in their stew.

Excellent recipe. I found that a mid sized elephant comfortably fed a crowd of 350 without having to add the rabbits (with a ridiculous amounts of leftovers). However, I thought that 4 weeks at 465 degrees was far too much and simmered the elephant at 220 degrees for just over 8 hours. WILL DO AGAIN!

Very good, but not so great as leftovers. If you don't have 3,800 people to serve, you should probably wait until more people post other recipes to use the rest of the elephant.

Loved the recipe! I went with a baby elephant instead (only had to feed 3 African tribes that night). I cooked over the fire for just about 6 hours and made cow blood gravy to go with it. It was a hit!

I did took this recipe & had a little fun with it. First I kept the elephant whole, just gutted it all out by removing the head like a turkey. Then I stuffed the elephant with the rabbits. Except I had to use 100 rabbits! The I built a giant meat smoker & smoked the whole thing. It came out so tender!!

I must say, this recipe needed a few more spices! I ended up stuffing the elephant with chili peppers, and used some red pepper flakes to up the spice. It turned out delish and I will make it again the next time an elephant roams into my backyard!

I must say, at first I thought that this was going to be a terrible recipe, but I just couldn't find another that served 3500 people! I made is and this is DELICIOUS! It is the most creative and yummy thing I have ever tasted! To go along with the stew, I made some homemade bread and I simply used the tusks to hold the butter in. Great job, keep them coming!

Two questions: A)How much salt & pepper should I use? 2) You don't specify whether the recipe calls for an African or an Indian elephant, and D)could I substitute a rhino or something? There's been such a run on elepants everywhere recently.

The addition of only 1/4 ton of onions really made a huge improvement!

I don't know how I can use up all this gravy, maybe I can rustle up a elephant pot pie.

Fantastic recipe but I have way too many leftovers. Elephant is not something you want every day for two years so I probably won't make this again.
