OLD-FASHIONED BANANA BREAD 
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 cups mashed bananas
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Mix first four ingredients. Cream butter and sugar together. Butter must be at room temperature. Add unbeaten eggs, one at a time, till nice and creamed. Mix in dry ingredients. Add bananas and chopped nuts. Pour into three greased loaf pans.

Bake at 400°F for 40 to 45 minutes or until done. Let cool in pans.

Note: I find that glass pans work best. please let me know if you like this recipe.
