BONELESS BEEF ROLLS 
1 1/2 lb. round steak
Salt and pepper
6 small carrots
2 tbsp. scraped onion
1 c. fine dry bread crumbs
1 slightly beaten egg
1 tbsp. milk
4 tbsp. fat
1 c. hot water

Cut steak into 6 pieces for individual servings. Season with salt and pepper. Put a scored carrot and a little onion on each piece, and roll. Fasten with toothpick. Roll in bread crumbs, dip in egg beaten with milk, and roll in crumbs again. Brown in fat. Add hot water and simmer slowly for 1 hour. Liquid left may be thickened for gravy. Makes six rolls.
