This was wonderful... Exactly what I was looking for after celebrating the feast of unleavened bread I wanted to find a recipe that I could use continually throughout the year... Thank you and my husband enjoyed it also...

Salt can be added for flavour. To prevent the dough from being leavened, it needs to be cooked quickly (within 18min of dry ingredients and wet coming into contact, according to rabbinic tradition). Chemical leaveners are arguably permissible, given that the emphasis behind unleavened bread is haste - there is no time to let dough rise, the Passover meal is eaten in traveling clothes, etc.

Is it ok to have water? The bible only says to use oil and fine whole wheat flour to make unlearned bread Exodus 29:2

Rich, Apparently you haven't read from the beginning of the great book of Leviticus or you would know that 2:13 is referring to a burnt offering for our Father. Also burnt offerings were done away and not wanted by Him as so documented in Hosea 6:6 saying "For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings."

I think you are missing the point Rich. The lady said the recipe was based on the recipe used by the women who fed Elijah in the book of Kings. It's not a works thing ! It's aimed guessing what recipe the Jews would have used on the first Passover . Since Jesus of course was the real Passover lamb Christians can use this recipe for communion... But as been pointed out several times on this page ... It's not compulsory! I for one am glad to find this recipe as I'm supposed to be doing the Daniel fast for the 40 days for life campaign . I was eating shop bought flat breads only to find they don't count as even they have raising agents in! :-( . We are not even supposed to eat bread with honey in so this recipe is ideal. Thanks

first of all. Pastor means overseer, so if you are not and elder then you are not a pastor you are an evangelist or preacher. Look it up! Also, you people are living in the old Testament when Jesus died for our sins, he brought us into the new testament. You people really need to read your bible!

Kim, Let us come together in love and unity and not discord. We are living in the day of Grace, however, the Old Testament is our School Teacher or our History Teacher. The use of unleaven bread during communion is simply a reminder of what the Jews of the OT was required to do at Passover and the Feast and of course, Jesus did say, "Do this in remembrance of me". What is most important at this time of year is to remember the price that was paid for our sins and the love that God has for all of us. If you as an individual or anyone else feels convicted of using salt or a mix of salt, soda or other leavening ingredients, then by all means, please use or make your bread in the way that best fits your needs. This is not a heaven or hell issue! Please remember... Jesus died for all people and His Grace is sufficient and FREE to all who seek HIM!

As a home bound Christian I have been making my own flat bread. I am very pleased with this one because it is based on the bible.

The Holy Spirit showed me that as long as we do this in remembrance of the Lord Jesus Christ I really believe deep in my heart that it doesn't matter what we do it with. Its all all about our Lord Savior Jesus Christ and I believe that he honors that we is doing for his Remembrance.

Thank you for this simple recipe. It was what I was looking for. When I made it according to recipe it turned out too wet and sticky...it couldn't be kneaded. I had to add more flour than I expected. I think a 3 to 1 ratio between flour and water would be better. I enjoyed the bread with hummus and smoked salmon... really awesome!
