GROUND BEEF IN GRAVY 
1 lb. ground beef (round steak, chuck or shoulder arm)
3 tbsp. butter or drippings
1 tbsp. grated onion
2 1/2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper

Cook meat and onion slowly in butter, stir constantly until lightly browned. Add water and seasonings and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes. Thicken liquid to desired thickness with a flour paste. Serve on toast or on mashed potatoes.
