HAMBURGER STEAK IN MUSHROOM
GRAVY
 
1 lb. ground beef
1 egg
1/4 c. bread crumbs
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 tbsp. flour
2 c. liquid (juice from mushrooms and water)
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms

Combine meat with egg, crumbs and seasoning, and half the onion soup mix. Shape into patties and fry in cooking oil. Remove browned hamburgers. Add flour to fry pan; stir while it browns lightly.

Blend in liquid, stirring vigorously until smooth. Stir in remaining onion soup mix and mushrooms; cook 5 minutes. Return meat to skillet; cook slowly five minutes. Serve with rice or buns. Serves 4-6.

Wow. This recipe just blew me away, the flavor of it is PHENOMENAL!!!! I made a slight adjustment to it by adding a 3/4 tsp minced garlic to the meat itself, along with a 1/8 tsp of salt, and as with the gravy, I added about 1/3 tsp of minced garlic. Otherwise, this recipe was pretty incredible.
