OLD COUNTRY BUFFET HOT FUDGE PUDDING CAKE | |
CAKE: 1 c. all-purpose flour 3/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 c. milk 2 tbsp. melted shortening 1 tsp. vanilla Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, salt, milk, shortening and vanilla. Blend until smooth. Pour cake mixture into ungreased 9-inch square pan. TOPPING: 3/4 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. unsweetened cocoa 1 3/4 c. hot water In small mixing bowl, mix together brown sugar, cocoa and hot water, making sure that the brown sugar is dissolved. Pour over batter. Bake at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes or until cake is set. Best when served warm. Top with Cool Whip, whipping cream or ice cream if desired. If doubled, put in 9x13-inch pan. |
