1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup chopped dates
1 tsp. shredded orange peel

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Cream margarine and sugar. Add egg, blend well.

Sift flour, salt and baking soda together and add with the orange juice. Fold in nuts, dates and orange peel.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.

Bake at 400°F for 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 4 dozen cookies.
