SALLY'S "FREEZER TO CROCK" POT ROAST | |
3-4 lb. beef chuck roast (frozen or thawed) OPTIONAL INGREDIENTS: Coca Cola onions, chopped carrots, peeled and chopped potatoes, peeled and diced salt and pepper, to taste SERVING SUGGESTIONS: brown gravy your favorite bread mashed potatoes Put chuck roast in Crock-Pot. Add seasoning and 1/2 cup Coca Cola to break down the fat. Cook on HIGH for 6 hours or LOW for 8 to 10 hours... Did you forget to thaw it? No problem, put frozen roast in Crock-Pot and follow same directions. Roast is done when it can be pulled apart with a fork. If it's not pulling apart easily it's not ready.. Add veggies when there is about an hour to go so they do not get too soggy, or skip the veggies, shred it and put it on a bun. Great meal to cook while your at work- just add veggies when you get home.. I would recommend the low setting in case you get stuck in traffic though. After it's done I take it out of the Crock-Pot to rest and drain the greasiness from it. This is also great when the roast is put onto a bread sandwich with mashed potatoes and covered in brown gravy! Submitted by: SALLY |
