TEXAS SHEET CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. hot water
2 sticks (1 c.) butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1/3 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together sugar, flour and baking soda. In a saucepan, bring water, butter and cocoa to a boil; pour over flour mixture. Add remaining ingredients and mix. Pour batter into 13x9x2 inch baking pan (I prefer jelly roll pan). Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 25 minutes. Test for doneness with wooden pick inserted near center and sides.

ICING:

Bring to a boil: 6 tbsp. milk 4 tbsp. cocoa

Stir in: 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Spread on cake while warm.
