BUTTER COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
3 tbsp. vanilla
4 1/2 c. self-rising flour
1 c. butter (2 sticks, melted)

ICING:

1 box confectionery sugar
1 tbsp. vanilla
2-3 melted tsp. butter

Add milk until mixture is spreadable, food coloring.

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla, then add flour, mix well. Chill overnight. Roll dough out and cut with cookie cutters. Bake for 4-5 minutes in 375-400 degree oven. Makes 8 dozen.

ICING:

Mix above icing ingredients and spread on cooled cookies. If icing gets thin from food coloring just add more confectioners sugar.
