BROWN BUNS 
1/2 c. oatmeal
1/2 c. cornmeal
1 tsp. salt
3 heaping tsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. molasses
3 c. boiling water
2 pkgs. yeast

Pour boiling water over everything except yeast. Soften yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and add to lukewarm mixture. Add enough flour to make as soft a dough as can be handled. Let rise until double in bulk. Knead down and let rise again. Make into desired shape buns. (I use about 7 cups of flour.)
