RAISIN BROWN BREAD 
Wash raisins first.

1 1/2 c. seedless raisins
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda

Pour boiling water over raisins and soda. Let cool.

2 tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. sugar (half white and half brown)
Pinch of salt
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 c. white flour
1/2 c. graham flour or oatmeal

Mix together. Bake in 3 greased tin cans (No. 2) for 1 hour at 350 degrees. (Makes round slices.)
