DIANA'S EASIEST OVEN BAKED BBQ EVER!! | |
I started making it this way when time was an issue and I had too many things going on at once. Now I keep making it because my husband and son absolutely love it! The country ribs with the fat trimmed off is my hubby's fave. My son loves it all. He's just happy to get to eat meat since I've been a steadfast vegetarian for 16 years. :) Prep time is 5 minutes. ENJOY! your choice meat (country ribs, ribs on the bone or skinless, boneless chicken breast -- any amount) your favorite barbecue sauce honey or brown sugar water Preheat oven to 350°F. Use a glass baking dish sized according to amount of ribs or chicken used. I don't use cooking spray or oil for this dish. A simple soak of the cooled glass pan after baking makes for easy cleanup. Place the raw meat (can be fresh or individual frozen pieces) side by side in your baking dish. It's best not to stack it if at all possible. Pour enough of your favorite BBQ sauce over the meat to generously cover it fully, including the sides and bottoms (I usually use KC Masterpiece Original). Don't worry about using too much sauce, you really can't go wrong with this recipe unless your pan gets too full and leaks while baking or when you're removing it from the oven... be careful! Sprinkle enough brown sugar or squeeze enough honey to suit your own taste and also to cover the tops of each piece of meat. Add enough water to go at least halfway up the sides of the meat, then with a fork, lift each piece of meat to allow the water to flow underneath, coating the whole bottom of the pan with water. I add the water last so it doesn't splash out and make a mess when you're coating the meat with sauce. Cover with tinfoil, pop it in the oven at 350°F and forget about it for 2 to 3 hours, depending on how full your pan is with meat and your own ovens cooking time. You'll have tasty, tender BBQ without flipping, turning or basting. The only things you need to wash afterwards is the pan you baked it in and the fork... aside from your dinner dishes, that is!
