“COCONUT BARS” IS IN:

COCONUT BARS 
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup shortening
2 eggs, beaten
2 cups oatmeal
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat together sugar and shortening. Add beaten eggs.

Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; add to sugar mixture. Add remaining ingredients.

Spread on a greased baking sheet.

Bake in a preheated 350°F oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

Cut into bars while still warm. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or drizzle with Confectioners Icing, if desired.
