3/4 c. butter 3/4 c. sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. uncooked quick or instant Cream of Wheat 1/2 c. raisins 1 tsp. vanilla Mix butter and sugar in large bowl. Add egg and beat well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Note: I sometimes add miniature chocolate chips. | |

When my boys were little I used to make these cookies for them. It didn't cost much, as a single mom on a tight budget I had to watch where I spent the little money I had. My boys loved these but I lost the recipe and all the people I asked never heard of these. Finally looked on the net. Thank you for posting this recipe.
