CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE BARS 
2 sticks butter, softened

In a large bowl whip until light and fluffy, creamy. Add to butter mixture:

3/4 c. white granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown (light sugar)

Mix well, add:

1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs

Mix well. In another bowl mix:

2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Mix well and add to butter mixture. Add 1 1/2 to 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate (real) or flavor of your choice, can use butterscotch, mint chocolate chips or peanut butter. Add (if desired) walnuts or pecans or nut of choice 1-1 1/2 cups. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Bake in a 9 1/2 x 13 inch pan and cut into bars. Frost or decorate if you desire.
