POMANDER BALLS 
1 thick-skinned lime
1 thick-skinned lemon
1 thick-skinned orange
3 oz. whole cloves
1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
1 tbsp. Orris root

Wash and dry fruit. Use a skewer to start holes and insert whole cloves into the skin. Cover entire surface. Mix cinnamon and Orris root and put heaping teaspoons in a small bag along with 1 fruit. Shake bag to coat well. Repeat with remaining fruit.

Wrap loosely or place in a foil-covered tray or basket. Store in a dry place until fruit shrinks and hardens, 3 to 4 weeks, turning every few days. Tie pomander ball with colored ribbon and hang in closet.
