OVEN BAKED CORN ON THE COB
Corn on the cob, with husks left on

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Leave the husks on the corn. Place the corn on the cob directly on the oven racks. Bake for about 1 hr depending on size. When the husks have turned a light brown on outside they should be done. This is the best way to cook fresh corn on the cob.

Leave the husks on COMPLETELY, don't be tempted to open them and take silk off. Its easier to remove the silk when they are cooked anyway. Plus the silk steaming with the corn will make the corn sweeter and more tender. Since the silk is basically just water. Why risk drying out your corn because you are OCD about your corn cleaning order?

Has anyone ever steamed corn in the husk and if so how long? Also do the ears husk easily? Easier than husking before cooking?

Very pleased! Baked 12 large ears at one time using both oven racks... baked them for 30 mins. on 350°F then 15 mins on 375°F... husks and silk slipped right off... easy peasy

Get some "real" corn first. Not the sweet corn that is genetically colored yellow.

"real" corn" is the Country Gent or Silver Queen variety like they grow in the midwest.
You cannot get real corn in California anymore except cobettes in the frozen food section of Safeway..

I used to always boil my corn on the cob. I will never do that again. This is so easy and delicious! I also opened the husks and took out the silk first then sealed it back up.
