“CORN DOGS” IS IN:

CORN DOGS 
1 (1 lb.) pkg. hot dogs
8 sticks
oil, for frying

BATTER:

2/3 cup corn meal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 cup milk
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 egg, slightly beaten

In a mixing bowl, combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Stir in milk and vegetable oil, mixing well. Add 1 slightly beaten egg.

Pat hot dogs dry using a paper towel (this helps batter to stick). Insert sticks and dip in corn dog mixture.

Cook in hot oil at 365°F until golden brown.

Yield: 8 corn dogs
