SWEET AND SOUR BEEF STEW 
1 1/2 lbs. beef stew meat, cut into one inch cubes
1 C chopped carrot
1 C diced onion
1-8 oz can tomato sauce
1/4 C brown sugar, packed
1/4 C vinegar
1/2 C water
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Brown stew meat in 2 Tbsp vegetable oil. Add rest of ingredients and cook over low heat until meat is tender, about 2 hours.

Combine 4 tsp cornstarch with 1/4 C water and add to beef mixture, cooking and stirring until thickened and bubbly. Serve over noodles, rice or potatoes.

Serves 4.
