SOFT - AS - A - CLOUD SOUR CREAM
BISCUITS
 
1 c. all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sour cream
1/4 c. half & half

Combine first 5 ingredients; stir well. Combine sour cream and half & half; add to flour mixture, stirring with a fork until all dry ingredients are moistened. Turn out on a floured surface and knead lightly 4 or 5 times. Roll dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut with a floured 2 inch biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Yield 10.

This recipe is AMAZING. Best scratch biscuits I've ever made. I made the following modifications:

SUBSTITUTE: 1/8 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled and 1/4 cup whole milk for 1/4 cup half & half

ADD: 1/4 cup sour cream (3/4 cup total)

Biscuits were very wet but cooked up like fluffy dream pillows!

Doubled the recipe and dropped on a large beef pot pie of sorts and they were absolutely perfect! So tender and tasty.
