BETTY'S SAUSAGE SURPRISE 
2 (16 oz.) cans stewed tomatoes
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
2 lbs. hot or smoked sausage (half inch slices)
1 lg. onion, sliced
1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. sherry
1/8 tsp. pepper

Combine all ingredients in a very large skillet or 5 quart Dutch oven. Bring to a boil. Cover and cook on medium low heat for 20-25 minutes. Serve over rice or noodles.
