CORNBREAD SURPRISE PIE 
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1/2 med. onion, chopped
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
3 tbsp. chili powder
1 can whole kernel corn
1 can tomato soup
1 1/2 c. cornmeal mix
Milk (enough to add to meal mix)
Salt & pepper to taste

Put ground beef, onions, green pepper and chili powder in skillet. Cook until done, drain 1/4 of the juices from mixture. Pour the mixture into a 9 x 12 inch baking dish. Drain the corn, add to meat mixture. Add tomato soup, stir together.

Mix cornbread mixture and spread on the top of mixture. Sprinkle with chili powder. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until cornbread turns brown. If you desire, add shredded cheese on top when serving.
