1 box (Pillsbury) yellow or butter cake mix (reserve 2/3 cup)
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. pecans, chopped

Combine cake mix, butter and egg until crumbly. Press in 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Prepare filling.

FILLING:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Mix together; pour over partially baked crust; sprinkle with pecans. Return to oven. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until filling is set. Cool; cut into bars.
