JIM'S CLASSIC MUSHROOM BURGERS
OVER MASH!

This is one of my personal favorites! ;)

1 lb. ground beef
salt and pepper, to taste
1 tsp. Herbes de Provence (McCormick; optional)
3/4 cup toasted and chopped fine bread crumbs
1 egg
mashed potatoes or steamed rice
mushroom gravy packet (cook according to pkg. instructions)

In large bowl blend by hand or spoon ground beef, bread crumbs, salt and pepper, and egg. Blend well and make burger patties about 1/2-inch thick. Now use a Pyrex pan and add a little vegetable oil on pan, put burgers on and broil on middle rack. Watch periodically so you don't burn it!

Brown the side well, flip over and cook the other side. If the heat of oven is too hot open the door slightly as you cook... Cook till done. I like to brown my burgers pretty well. About 20 minutes, so roughly cook ten minutes on each side. Just don't burn it!

While you're at it - make the mushroom gravy and mash potatoes, and or steamed rice. Set aside.

Note: you can serve corn or green beans as a side... Cooked of course (boiled in water till done.), add a little butter to your vegetable. Now to serves the burgers!

Place a hearty pile of mash on plate, place burger on top, pour gravy on top, put the side of vegetables and serve!
